To Our Children's Children's Children - The Moody Blues

Please Click this Link
to make a donation, no matter how small,
(they tell me a POUND is worth a GOLD CROWN when you're that ill)
to help cure my 3 years old grandson Benny and/or
many other children suffering with
LEUKAEMIA
BENNY (center)
before the disease took his hair, strength and complexion away.
The heartfelt THANKS of Alex, Lisa, Benny, Bernard and Fred, Elizabeth
and of course Myself
go out to those who have done so already!
Here at Parley Court Farm there has only been one 15 minute blemish
across nearly 3 days of more or less uninterrupted sunshine.
Even then the spectacle of first a single
then a double
RAINBOW
above Harbins Farm House
with its attendant heavy shower of rain didn't damped any spirits,
and early morning the Moth Traps were cleared to find more
PINK-BARRED SALLOW
accompanied first by a singing
CHIFFCHAFF
then
SALLOW
along with
CENTRE-BARRED SALLOW
before an equally vocal
WILLOW WARBLER
joined in the chorus.
CADDISFLY
(Port Side)
CADDISFLY
(Starboard Side)
EARWIG
and then we headed north.
At the Sewerage Works we noted the first
Large Gull
of the Autumn a juvenile
HERRING GULL
while close by another far less cooperative
CHIFFCHAFF
amid a good number of
GREENFINCH
Again of the less than helpful brigade a female
BLACKCAP
was not prepared to reveal her true colours, so we turned our attention to
the abundance of
FRUITS of the FOREST
PINE CONES
ROSE HIPS
ACORNS
some as big as your thumb and masses of
BLACKBERRIES
BLUE TIT
was just one of a fair few feeding among the Oak foliage, before we
(yes you've got it)
another
SMOOTH SNAKE
but not just any old Smooth Snake no, but
the SMALLEST one we have found to date
pointing to the fact that breeding is, or has been, underway.
Cecil B DeMille
Further along what was considered to be a 'pregnant'
SLOW WORM
along with an
odd coloured individual and another
BROWN-LIPPED SNAIL
There seems to be an awful lot of
ROYAL NAVY HELICOPTER
activity around he of late, reminiscent of how the Portland was back
in days of yore when Wasp Helicopters would land and take off
rather like (well), Wasps at their nest.
Walking back to Merritown Gate a bird plunged into the Heather
which by the time the Bins were brought to bear was showing just a
Barred Underwing.
Our first Short-eared Owl for certain, but unfortunately, when it revealed itself,
it was a Short-eared Owl dressed as a female
SPARROWHAWK
Never mind, there will be other days.
