Dom & Eggs & Chunky

As its National Moth Night tonight you may be forgiven for thinking we may have been up early sorting out our chokes and short-wave lamps. Wrong, today it was 11-00 and after a dashed smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast we paid a brief visit to Abbotsbury Hill to take in the view. Marred by mist, we couldn't see Portland but St Catherine's Chapel impressed and we got the hire car back right on time. From there it was atour of the sights of Weymouth, starting with the seafront, pleasure pier (as we used to call it), the quay and both St Thomas & St Mary Streets. Ille thought it was paradise, so goes to show a stranger to the town point of view. No car and dry throated we retired to Brewers Quay for a couple of pints outside the Red Lion. There we met a few acquaintances, and friends included John Bailey and the irrepressible Chunky, ROV Superintendant on various world Cable Laying vessels. A message here for Lisa, Chunky sends his best wishes and good luck with the delivery.

Got to go now as we are about to embark on Quail's eggs on a Mediterranean salad, braised duck in plum sauce with roast vegetables and bread and butter pudding with cream. To accompany a Dom Perignon 1990 and a 2005, 5 Puttonyes Royal Tokaji with the duff.

DO NOT DISTURB!

Last evening with Nigel, Julie and Lee was a great success, enjoying chicken chaseur and chocolate pudding, and for the none drivers a glass or two of red.
